Today I'm visiting Sherrill Quinn's blog and I'm trying to solve the mystery to how I wrote a cowboy story.
Yee-haw.

Happy holidays
Happy holidays to you and yours.
The blog will be more active now that the Christmas retail season is over (Yay! No more Glee Christmas album being piped through the speakers in the store!)

In Retrospect
I should've taken yesterday off from work so I could enjoy my release day. Instead I worked my retail 8 hours, spent a lot of money at my staff appreciation day, came home, had a couple of slices of pizza, talked to my mom, stripped off the work clothes, climbed into bed and fell asleep for four hours before I woke up for 3 hours then had weird dreams about my childhood best friend's older brother while being stuck on a plane with another childhood friend and all we did was fight.
All in all I'd rather have been basking the warm glow of my release.
It's been so long since I've had a release, I forgot how emotionally exhausting it was.
So I should've taken yesterday off. You can bet your sweet bippy I'm going to do that.
A comment on Marie Tuhart's blog yesterday about my heroine being a Domme has had me pondering...why the heck did I chose that for my heroine? In general they aren't a popular choice. Now if the hero had been a Dom, things would be different. I'm gonna have to think about that choice...

Spurred On..Really!
So today is here.
Finally.
The day I've waited and waited for.
Spurred On is now available to purchase!
No more coming soon, no more available on a certain day because today of all days is here!
What are you waiting for? Go shop!

He wears the spurs, but she's not afraid to use them.
Country singer and secret Domme Jessa Brody is home to perform at the Calgary Stampede and to brainstorm some new songs for her next album. Sexy bronc rider Luke O'Connor is once again the perfect inspiration for her songs and naughty dreams. Strong, brave and handsome, he's man enough to submit to her wildest desires. But can she handle the responsibilities that go hand in hand with being a good Domme, or will she lose herself --and Luke--when Spurred On?

Writing Roadtrip
As I was sitting at work on my break, thumbing through the latest RWR I was gobsmacked with the realization that RT's Booklover is in LA next spring and the RWA Conference is in NYC.
I wanna go to both.
I need the money to go to both.
Odds are I'll only be able to pick one and the LA would be the easiest (re: affordable) to get there flight wise. Although Westjet goes to both.
Ahh the pressure of picking. I've already done the big RWA one in NYC and my only real excuse going would be to see friends in NYC and area. LA could factor in for the same reasons but I've never done RT and I'm very curious about it. I think RT would be more laidback then RWA.
Tough call. It will come down to the $$$...it always does.
But a conference...yes, I wanna go to one.

Revenge-ish
I was using revenge as motivation for my newest heroine.
I wasn't liking it very much.
I just couldn't come up with a plausible reason for her revenge. Her motivation had to be enough to make her likable and instead she was seeming a little, well, bitchy and self-serving.
Erm...not the best thoughts one wants in regards to a heroine.
So I scraped that (and the 2400 words written) without a second thought because I don't want anyone to hate my heroine.
Especially me! Gads. What a nightmare that would've been.
Back to the wordy salt mines now that I've figured it all out.
If only finding a new title was as easy.

Distracted
It's been so sporadic around here lately. I'm such a bad writer.
Being distracted by the job, which is in retail and well...it's Christmas.
Being distracted by submitting to LSB. (Go Me!)
Being distracted by wounding myself walking home from last night's shift. Damn ice.
Being distracted by writing utter crap with my favourite hero.
Plenty of excuses and all of them kinda suck.
Can you forgi---oooh shiny.
